Le Fruit Defendu Domaine Magellan Cotes de Thongue 2009

Tannic.  medium body.  Not fruity, earthy.  Dry and a little strange.  Nice quiet nose.  Lots of anise/licorice notes.  I think a wine to drink with something that is savory.  This wine is not a good fruit compliment.  There is a claim that this is a fruity red but I am not tasting the fruit.  interestingly this is a 100% cinsault which makes for a fantastic rose (that is fruity) and the taste profile of this wine is different
